Veerle from team Di[A] Hards, has been living with type 1 diabetes for 36 years.
8.5 million people globally are tackling this condition 24/7 in order to keep their glucose levels on track
and to avoid diabetes-related complications in the long term.
Research is running at full speed to better understand, prevent and cure this autoimmune disease.
Needless to say that this requires funding. Lots of it!
Therefore, Veerle and her 14 year-old daughter Esmée
will be running the short distance of the Baloise Antwerp 10 miles,
to support Hippo & Friends Diabetes Foundation.
